Beadaddict is Roxann Blazetich-Ozols. Her designs are inspired by the natural interplay of the colour spectrum. Roxann has been working exclusively in beads since 1998, when she first discovered the infinite possibilities in beadwork.
Over the years, Roxann has exhibited at Canadian Bead Oasis Shows in Toronto and Calgary, Casa Loma and Toronto Bead Society shows in Toronto, A Gift of Art at the Cambridge Galleries in Cambridge, Fair November, Made for You, Art in the Street and Grand River Bead Society Shows in Guelph.
As Beadaddict, Roxann has taught beading classes and techniques at Canadian Bead Oasis Shows in Toronto and Calgary, Toronto Bead Society meetings in Toronto, the Cambridge Galleries in Cambridge and Grand River Bead Society meetings and the Evergreen Centre in Guelph.
Roxann is a member of the Toronto Bead Society and co-founder of the Grand River Bead Society. She teaches and exhibits regularly for both Societies. Roxann is also a member of the Guelph Arts Council.
Beadaddict kits feature Roxann’s own, exclusive designs and have been developed using her extensive experience as both designer and instructor. Wherever possible, her kits use precision Japanese Delica® cylindrical beads and sophisticated Czech or Austrian crystal beads.
While her primary activities centre on teaching and developing kits, Roxann still designs and makes exclusive finished jewellery in Delica® beads. She is available for commissions as well as custom repair or redesign of beaded jewellery, including re-stringing of pearls and semi-precious stones.
Before she discovered the beauty of beads, Roxann worked in fibre arts such as macramé, quilting, needlepoint and weaving. Roxann has operated several craft stores, including the Libricorn in Alton (at what is now the Millcroft Inn), a second Libricorn near Chicago and finally Naturally Yours in the Beaches neighbourhood in Toronto.
Now a resident of Guelph, Roxann has truly become a bead addict. “There are times when I wake up at night with designs of pattern and colour already in my mind”. She hopes that you enjoy her designs as much as she did creating them.
